Hi,
we're M & E. We're two sisters, ages eleven and twelve, who live by
Glacier National Park in Northwestern Montana.
Rocky Mountain Kids Korner, is a website for all ages and tells about our exciting life in the Rockies
and the adventures we have. So, we invite
you to come along and join
the fun!
Winter in Northwestern Montana is
cloudy, snowy, and cold. Sometimes though, the weather is simply
gorgeous! We go
ice skating
at the local pond, sled down our favorite hill, and
snowshoe in the park. We're home schooled and have chores.
But when we're not working hard, we have fun--and one of the things we
do is make
paper towel dolls. The days are short and on the weekends we
watch lots of family movies.
Before you know it, the birds come, the snow melts, and it's spring.
That's when we go to a really big garden center to buy petunias.
We help our mom plant flowers and sow the seeds in our
vegetable garden.
In Montana, summers are sunny, hot, and dry like a desert. The
days are long and it stays daylight until 11 p.m. We ride our
bicycles up and down our block and swing on our homemade wooden swing in
our big backyard. We like to read and sometimes we take walks to our local
library. We
hike
at Glacier National Park and also various other places in Montana.
Sometimes, but hardly ever, we swim at a nearby lake.
Next, autumn comes along with its chilly breezes. It sneaks up
around September and gets cold. The leaves turn pretty colors of
red, gold and yellow. We rake lots and lots of leaves. We
start to get sad that we won't be able to ride our bikes but then we
realize Winter snow will come and we can have a lot of
Montana
fun.
